The new single by James Robert Webb’s , Six Strings & The Truth, is released this Friday and it’s already gaining some impressive stats.
The single was selected by the iTunes editorial staff as a featured track. As a result, pre-order sales have climbed and the song is currently #14 on the iTunes chart.
It’s not just fans that love the song, though. Radio programmers have been downloading the song as well. The song ranked #8 on downloads by radio stations on mega site, PlayMPE. It was also in the top 10 at another radio station and blogger site, AirplayDirect, ranking #7 in downloads there.
By the time that Tulsa singer-songwriter, James Robert Webb released his debut album, Pictures last April, he had already started working on his second album, Honky Tonk Revival. This time around, Webb has taken even more creative control, writing and producing the bulk of the album. The result is a project that is sure to delight country fans of all ages.
Although the release date is not yet set, early reviews are positive, including this one by Chuck Dauphin over at CM Chat.
Dauphin writes “Tying it all together is the down-home wisdom of “Six Strings and the Truth,” a song that pays tribute to what all of Webb’s heroes paid attention to in songs – relatable stories and lyrics set to a beat that leaves an indelible impression on a mind. I have a feeling that Honky Tonk Revival is going to take Webb much closer to that hallowed ground as ever before!” We at Bison Creek Records couldn’t agree more.
Fans of James Robert Webb are finding him on the back cover of this week’s issue of Nash Country Weekly. James shares the outer cover with Merle Haggard who appears on the front of a special commemorative issue celebrating the life of the legendary songwriter.
“Gracing the back cover of [Nash] Country Weekly with Merle Haggard on the front is probably the coolest thing that’s happened to me,” says Webb of the placement. His appearance announces the arrival of his debut album Pictures, now available online and at Bison Creek Records.

I am so blessed to have a great group of folks helping me get this out to radio.”
The Tulsa, Oklahoma native’s latest release on Bison Creek Records, “Makin Love Tonight” is playing on almost half of the music row panel stations. The tune, penned in part by Banner Music writer, Daniel Kleindienst, appears set to break into the top 40 in December. James Robert Webb’s second single, “Daddy Made A Million” is turning heads and ears in radio stations across the U.S.
The song was released in a week that ended up seeing no less than 11 new singles released, mostly by major label artists. Yet, the song was named to the Music Row Magazine coveted ‘Most Added’ list and is already playing on 15 of that panels stations.
Fans overseas are also wanting to know more about Daddy with downloads in Western Europe including Spain, France, Ireland and the UK. Early radio response is fantastic with #DaddyMadeAMillion garnering Webb’s first major market station add–quite a feat for an independent artist.
“We still have a few surprises left” says Webb speaking of upcoming promotion of the single. He just completed shooting of a full length music video for Daddy which is expected to be released in early April.
The hit single, “Party In The Barn” scored big on both the Texas and Music Row Charts, a first for Bison Creek Artists. The single is still going strong in Ireland and the UK with continued activity on those charts as well as continued airplay on secondary, independent and internet radio.
James’ new single, “Daddy Made A Million” is set for commercial release in early spring.
